Andrew Forshaw - Director and co-founder
Hi, I’m Andy. In 2022, I achieved my ambition of starting my own engineering company. Drawing on career experience of designing residential & domestic projects, Airports, HM Prisons, Defence, reservoirs, and schools, I would proudly call myself an engineering generalist.
Each and every project is different but all need the same engineering principles, attention to detail, client interaction and enthusiasm.
My current interest is sustainable drainage as I can overlap great design with biodiversity.
I’ve also been an Approved Certifier of Design under the SER scheme since it's inception in 2005.
Happy to travel throughout the UK, challenge me with something unusual.
My favourite project I have worked on recently is James Jones visitor and office extension in Lockerbie which was shortlisted for the Wood Awards.
Mike Gauld - Associate and co-founder
Hi, I’m Mike and with over 20 years experience, felt the time was right to embark on a new adventure.
I’ve worked on a broad range of projects in my career and my expertise lies in complex refurbishments, bespoke houses and elegant detailed design. The bulk of my career has been spent working in Edinburgh and London where I’ve developed an extensive knowledge of structures and the stages of design particular to projects either side of the border.
I enjoy the process of design and particularly the satisfaction of identifying problems early in the development of a project resolving these in as simple or sophisticated a manner as the budget allows. I believe in open communication with my clients and enjoy collaborating with architects and other members of the design team involved during the journey of each project.
My favourite project I have worked on is Hampstead House by Zac Monro Architects, due to the high level of detailing and budgetary freedom! Read more about it from the architect's pages here.
